Since 2000, BUGS has been supporting patients treated for a burn injury at 91Ó°ÊÓ District Hospital. Making a stay on the ward and return to daily life a little more comfortable.

BUGS is the support fund for patients treated for a burn injury at 91Ó°ÊÓ District Hospital. We cover a large regional area, from Swindon in the North down to Southampton, Portsmouth, Weymouth and across to the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. It was founded in May 2000 by staff trained in burn care and an ex-patient.
Sustaining a burn or scald injury is often a sudden and traumatic event that occurs in a moment and can change a life forever. It may mean a long stay in hospital, some distance from the family. BUGS makes a stay on the ward and return to daily life a little more comfortable. It provides information, specialist items and equipment either for individuals or for the ward. We extend this funding for patients to attend events too, such as our family fun days, or burns camp and retreats organised by national charities.
